Youth Confirmation 2026

CONFIRMATION provides an intentional space for our youth to learn about the Christian faith in a more concentrated and focused way. Over a seven class period students will dive into the central ideas about Christianity, but also be pushed to make a choice about the ownership and direction of their faith lives. At the end of Confirmation the youth will be asked if they want to intentionally commit to following Jesus with their life and join the church. We encourage them to make a choice even if it is a "no" in order that they may be ACTIVE in thinking critically about their own beliefs.

When is this happening?
Sunday mornings 9:30AM-10:30AM, February 23 to April 6. Students will be confirmed on Palm Sunday

What if my student is already Confirmed?
We encourge them to attend class as usual and participate. It is a great refresher on important things they may have forgotten. Students may sit in the main sanctuary or volunteer with media team if they do not want to participate at all.


WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CONFIRMATION?

- An official commitment of participation (notify Calvin 401-489-9606)
- Attend at least five full core classes or make-up sessions
- An agreement to commit their lives to Jesus
- A baptism (sprinkling) if not previously baptized
- A brief 15 minute meeting with the church Elders April 13th
- A formal Presentation to the Congregation on April 13th or alternate

Upon completion Confirmed youth will receive a personalized bible from the church. Continued class attendance is still encouraged for the healthy development of their spirituality.
